The president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, has embarked on a two-day trip to Brussels to address the concerns of the region's agricultural and livestock sectors, holding key meetings with European Union officials and business representatives.

During her stay in the Belgian capital, Díaz Ayuso is scheduled to meet with the EU Commissioner for Agriculture and Food, Christophe Hansen. The primary objective of this meeting is to analyze the situation of Madrid's agricultural sector, especially in the context of the Mercosur agreement, which is set to come into force on May 1.
In addition to discussions with European authorities, the Madrid president will host an event bringing together approximately thirty Spanish companies and business organizations based in Brussels. This initiative aims to strengthen ties and the representation of Spain's economic interests in the European capital.
Díaz Ayuso's agenda also includes a meeting with Spanish MEPs, including the third vice-president of the EU Parliament and the secretary-general of the European People's Party (EPP). This trip marks the president's second international institutional visit in 2026, following her trip to New York City last March.
