Young designer María Dóniga Martínez, originally from Torrejón de Ardoz, has achieved a significant milestone by presenting her creations at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid, one of Spain's most important fashion events.

Dóniga, a fourth-year student of the Degree in Fashion Design at the University of Design, Innovation and Technology (UDIT), showcased three of her designs as part of the collaborative collection ‘El Renacer’ (The Rebirth). This proposal, developed with her peers, is inspired by the idea of transformation and the capacity for reconstruction after adversity.

This collection starts from the concept of rebirth, an invitation to celebrate transformation, the strength that emerges after rupture, and the beauty of rebuilding oneself.

The pieces presented explore personal change through a combination of organic and architectural forms. The color palette and textures used symbolize the transition from darkness to light, emphasizing themes such as resilience and individual development.
UDIT highlighted that each design in the ‘El Renacer’ collection “translates experiences into silhouettes that oscillate between the organic and the architectural,” transforming fashion into an artistic expression of the human process and personal reconstruction.
The event was attended by representatives from the Community of Madrid and the Madrid City Council, as well as international experts, media, and companies from the fashion sector. This participation represents a considerable boost for María Dóniga's career, bringing the talent of Torrejón de Ardoz to a global fashion platform.
