The Civil Guard has dismantled a criminal organization responsible for 62 burglaries in the Community of Madrid and the province of Toledo, concluding an operation with the arrest of seven individuals.

The operation, named Plomba, has shed light on the group's criminal activities in Madrid municipalities such as Alcalá de Henares, Getafe, Parla, and Humanes, as well as other towns in the region and the northwest of the province of Toledo.
The arrested individuals were involved in two main types of criminal activity: robberies inside trucks parked at service areas while drivers rested, and burglaries targeting banks, post offices, and tobacconists. For the latter, they used tools and electronic devices to bypass security systems and force entry.
The group used previously stolen vans and high-end vehicles, altering their license plates to conceal their origin. Their operational base was located on an isolated plot in Cubas de la Sagra, where they stored the stolen vehicles and goods.
During the operational phase, five home searches were conducted, resulting in the seizure of numerous items from the robberies, along with the tools and electronic devices used. Five high-end vehicles, five vans, and two cloned keys were recovered.
The Civil Guard estimates the total value of the merchandise stolen by this criminal organization to be 257,000 euros.
