The Civil Guard has dismantled a gang of six individuals highly experienced in bank robberies nationwide, using high-end vehicles primarily stolen in the Community of Madrid.

A police operation has concluded with the arrest of six individuals who formed a criminal group highly specialized in assaulting banking institutions. These individuals used high-displacement vehicles and advanced tools to execute their heists with extreme speed, often in a matter of minutes.
The investigation began in October 2025, following an increase in the theft of high-end cars in the province of Madrid. These vehicles were subsequently used in the assaults after their license plates were changed to stolen or duplicated ones. They are attributed with bank robberies in towns such as Cardeñadijo (Burgos), Montemayor de Pinilla (Valladolid), Barrax (Albacete), La Puebla del Salvador (Cuenca), as well as El Torrico and Casarrubios del Monte (Toledo).
The gang members stole high-displacement vehicles, mainly in the province of Madrid, to use them in robberies and ensure a swift escape. It was discovered that they concealed these cars on an agricultural plot in the Chinchón valley. Once the stolen vehicles' license plates were altered, they would travel to small towns across Spain and, during the early hours, disable bank security measures by cutting wiring or using frequency jammers.

In a single night, they managed to seize over 140,000 euros.

Once inside the bank, they used specialized tools to remove the safe in minutes, load it into the vehicle, and quickly flee. In one of their actions, they managed to steal over 140,000 euros in a single night. The police operation included five searches and the arrest of all six members of the group.
During the intervention, various items related to the robberies were seized, including four vehicles, hydraulic pliers, a thermal lance, angle grinders, frequency jammers, blank keys, lock cylinder extractors, GPS geolocation devices, covert video cameras, other electronic devices, as well as cash and clothing used in the commission of various criminal acts. The six detainees are judicially charged with thirty-two criminal acts, and all have been remanded in custody. Units from the Madrid, Toledo, and Burgos Comandancias participated in the police investigation.
