Real Madrid CF confirmed this Monday the departure of its captain, Dani Carvajal, at the end of the current campaign, concluding a link of more than twenty years with the entity.

The white club expressed its gratitude for the "dedication and affection" of one of the most decorated players in its history. The 34-year-old full-back joined the Madrid youth academy in 2002 and, after progressing through the youth ranks, has played 13 seasons with the first team. This last season has been particularly difficult, with limited participation after failing to regain his level following a serious knee injury sustained at the start of the 2024/25 season.
During his time at Real Madrid, Carvajal has amassed an impressive record of 27 titles, including six European Cups, six Club World Cups, five UEFA Super Cups, and four La Liga titles. He is among the select group of players with six Champions League titles.
The defender concludes his tenure with the white team after playing 450 official matches and scoring 14 goals. Individually, he was included in the FIFPro World 11 in 2024, was part of the FIFA FIFPro Men's World 11 at The Best awards, and was chosen as the best player in the 2024 Champions League final, where he also scored a goal.
With the Spanish national team, Carvajal has earned 51 caps, winning the UEFA Euro 2024 and the UEFA Nations League Finals 2023.

"He is a legend and a symbol of Real Madrid and its youth academy"

Florentino Pérez · President of Real Madrid CF
Club president Florentino Pérez praised the player, calling him "a legend and a symbol of Real Madrid and its youth academy," and stated that he "has always represented the values of Real Madrid in an exemplary manner." Pérez recalled the image of Carvajal alongside Alfredo Di Stéfano during the laying of the foundation stone for the Ciudad Real Madrid as a moment that "will remain forever in the hearts of all Madridistas."
Real Madrid CF will pay tribute to the footballer this Saturday at the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu, coinciding with the team's final league match of the season.
