The Community of Madrid has confirmed it will not develop tailor-made regulations for hosting concerts at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium. The Minister of Presidency, Justice, and Local Administration, Miguel Ángel García Martín, stated that any regulatory development concerning large events will always prioritize the "general interest" over particular interests.
These statements come in response to recent remarks by Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez, who had announced the imminent return of concerts to the sports venue. García Martín was emphatic in pointing out that the Community will not design specific regulations for individual cases, regardless of their significance.
From the regional Executive's perspective, any new rule must adhere to general criteria and not to the specific needs of a single entity. This stance underscores the regional administration's commitment to regulatory equity and its rejection of legislative exceptionalities.
It has been highlighted that the Community of Madrid, the Madrid City Council, and Real Madrid will collaborate to strike a balance between organizing major events and ensuring the rest of residents in the vicinity of the Santiago Bernabéu. "We are very pleased that they can do so, but also respecting the rest," stated García Martín, emphasizing neighborhood coexistence as a fundamental pillar for reconciling the stadium's cultural and economic activity with the area's quality of life.
