The Community of Madrid commemorated Dos de Mayo with an institutional event at the Real Casa de Correos, where the Grand Crosses of the Order of Dos de Mayo were awarded to various personalities and entities, in an atmosphere of normality and solemnity.

The president of the Community of Madrid presided over the ceremony, which featured magician Jorge Blass as master of ceremonies and a musical performance by Paloma San Basilio. The event maintained an institutional tone, despite the political climate already pointing towards the 2027 elections.
For the second consecutive year, the central government had no representation at the event, an absence criticized by the PSOE. Nevertheless, the day proceeded without incident, with the attendance of the mayor of Madrid, the leader of the PP, and representatives from parliamentary and municipal groups.

"A region free from political harassment and sectarianism that will not allow itself to be controlled by anything or anyone."

"gave their lives for the freedom of Spain."
