Madrid prepares to enjoy cinema under the stars with the arrival of summer 2026, offering a varied program in various emblematic city spaces.

The summer season in Madrid brings one of its most cherished traditions: open-air film screenings. Parks, squares, and cultural venues transform to offer a unique experience, combining commercial hits, classics, and auteur cinema.
The Cibeles de Cine initiative, at the Palacio de Cibeles, presents an ambitious program starting June 25th. It will feature titles such as Volver, Proyecto Salvación, Michael, Spirited Away, and La escopeta nacional, with prices ranging from 7 to 22.50 euros.
The dean of summer cinemas, Fescinal, celebrates its 42nd edition at Parque de la Bombilla from June 26th to September 5th. It will offer premieres, Spanish cinema, subtitled original versions, and family-friendly content, along with talks. Among the announced films are Michael, Bugonia, Hamnet, Toy Story 5, and Supergirl, with tickets starting from 6 euros.
Matadero Madrid hosts for the ninth consecutive year CinePlaza de verano, under the title Superestrellas 3, from July 2nd to 26th. This cycle, part of Veranos de la Villa, will merge cinema and music with cine-concerts and commented screenings, exploring genres like yé-yé cinema, blaxploitation, and 21st-century queer cinema. Tickets start at 3.50 euros.
The Centro district offers three free open-air cinema cycles during June and July, starting at 9:00 PM. Screenings will take place at Plaza de Barceló, Plaza de la Corrala, and Las Vistillas, featuring titles like Sonic 3, A Minecraft Movie, Superman, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, Gladiator II, and Jurassic World: Dominion.
The Casa Museo Lope de Vega will transform its garden into an open-air cinema every Wednesday from July 1st to 29th at 10:00 PM. Inspired by the exhibition Mujeres de ingenio, the cycle will screen films such as Teresa, Emily, I, the Worst of All, and La monja alférez, with free admission.
La Casa Encendida presents La Terraza Magnética from June 26th to August 1st, under the theme Cartografías de la noche. Fridays will be dedicated to cinema with titles like Night on Earth, A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night, and Long Day's Journey into Night, while Saturdays will feature concerts. Some sessions will extend to Casa San Cristóbal.
