Borja Carabante, delegate for Urban Planning, Environment, and Mobility of the Madrid City Council, celebrated the announcement by José Luis Martínez-Almeida of his intention to run for re-election in the 2027 municipal elections. The delegate believes the mayor's continuity will allow for the consolidation of the Popular Party's political project in the capital, alongside the President of the Regional Government, Isabel Díaz Ayuso.
Speaking to the press at the Rosaleda in Parque Oeste, Carabante described Almeida's decision as "extraordinary news for Madrid and for the people of Madrid." The municipal delegate argued that the current mayor's candidacy guarantees "the best of Madrid today" and reinforces a future project for the coming years, embodying with Ayuso an era of growth, stability, and projection for the capital.
“"I believe Almeida, alongside Isabel Díaz Ayuso, embodies the best of Madrid today, but above all a future project that will allow us to consolidate this extraordinary moment that the city of Madrid is experiencing."
The Urban Planning official emphasized that Almeida has prioritized commitment to Madrid and its future. This decision, in his opinion, strengthens the Popular Party's project in the region and provides continuity to a period of collaboration between the City Council and the Community of Madrid.
Carabante placed special emphasis on the political synergy between Almeida and Ayuso, considering it fundamental for the city's development. "It has been a tandem that has allowed Madrid to experience this extraordinary moment, and for both to participate in this candidacy allows us to look to the future with more optimism," concluded the delegate.
