The company has announced that the situation has been resolved and the supply normalized following interventions and water purging in the distribution network. Sources from the Ministry of Environment, Agriculture and Interior confirmed that the actions were carried out to address the detected modifications.
The origin of this specific incident is linked to operations on the carbon filters at the Santillana water treatment plant (ETAP). These works, as explained by the same sources, can exceptionally cause variations in the water's smell or taste, as occurred on this occasion.
Despite the alterations, the Ministry, which oversees Canal de Isabel II, emphasized that the water has maintained the required potability standards at all times, remaining fit for human consumption. The company reminded that these maintenance tasks are necessary to ensure service quality.
