CaixaForum Madrid opens its doors to 'Somos Naturaleza', an innovative immersive experience that fuses digital art, science, and technology to invite reflection on biodiversity.

CaixaForum Madrid has inaugurated the exhibition 'Somos Naturaleza' (We Are Nature), an immersive proposal aiming to raise awareness about the richness and fragility of planetary biodiversity. The exhibition, which combines digital art, science, and technology, is produced by Oasis Immersive Studios in collaboration with National Geographic.
Presented by the director of CaixaForum Madrid, Isabel Fuentes, and the co-founder of Oasis Immersive Studios, Denys Lavigne, the exhibition is conceived as a journey into the heart of nature. Through a tour of various ecosystems, it seeks to highlight the interdependence of all living beings and the urgency of preserving natural balance.
The initiative arises in response to growing international concern over biodiversity loss, inspired by commitments from the UN's COP15. The exhibition is structured into three areas utilizing large immersive projections, thematic scenographies, and educational spaces to connect visitors with the natural environment and its challenges, such as climate change and pollution.
Isabel Fuentes emphasized that the exhibition conveys a message of hope, focusing on both individual responsibility and collective action. "Caring for biodiversity is a shared task where coordinated action and the sum of individual commitments are key to achieving real progress," she stated during the presentation.
Cynthia Doumbia, Senior Director of Business Development at National Geographic Society, highlighted how the initiative merges the institution's tradition of exploration and conservation with immersive technologies to address some of the most pressing environmental challenges of our time.
The exhibition has received international recognition, awarded the Numix 2025 prize for best international exhibition, validating its capacity to integrate scientific outreach, technological innovation, and artistic creation. Furthermore, it is complemented by parallel activities, including a family film series and participatory guided visits to delve into ecological concepts.
