Crane collapses in Tetuán, causing building damage without injuries

The collapse of a construction crane in a work site in the Tetuán district, Madrid, has caused damage to three buildings without resulting in injuries, although it did lead to the precautionary evacuation of a family.

An unusual incident disrupted the normality in Madrid's Tetuán district. A construction crane fell on Francisco de Sales street, number 27, causing significant damage to the building under construction and two adjacent properties. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, according to Emergencias Madrid.
Several units from the Madrid Fire Department were dispatched to the scene to secure the area and assess the extent of the damage. The crane's structure affected a building at 19 Castilla street, damaging two terraces and the roof of a storage unit facility. It also impacted the roof of a home at 60 Tenerife street.
As a precautionary measure, the family residing in the home on Tenerife street was evacuated. The construction site where the accident occurred also remains closed.
In a separate incident over the weekend, the return traffic operation on the A-5 highway, in the Latina district, was disrupted by the presence of a pedestrian on the roadway. An individual, described as Black, was walking among vehicles in the construction zone, waving his arms and staggering, which necessitated emergency maneuvers to prevent a tragedy. The scene was captured by eyewitnesses.
