The Assembly of Madrid is set to incorporate eight additional deputies following the regional elections in 2027, raising its total number of representatives from 135 to 143, as a consequence of the region's demographic growth.

The president of the regional Chamber, Enrique Ossorio, announced this projection, which will materialize if the population census at the end of this year confirms the necessary increase. The regulation stipulates an addition of one deputy for every 50,000 additional inhabitants.
Currently, the Assembly has eight vacant seats. To accommodate the new representatives, ten additional seats will be installed at the rear of the benches starting March 2027, coinciding with the Chamber's dissolution before the elections. These new seats will be easily removable, and there is "unanimity" among the parliamentary groups to set a maximum limit for the number of deputies.
Ossorio also detailed the project for the future headquarters of the Chamber of Accounts, which will be built on a plot adjacent to the Parliament. Currently, the institution rents a building for approximately one million euros annually. The deadline for submitting design proposals is July 13, in collaboration with the Official College of Architecture of Madrid. The estimated budget is 24 million euros for a 10,000 square meter building with 140 parking spaces, which must maintain aesthetic coherence with the Assembly.
In a review of parliamentary activity, Ossorio reported the approval of 29 laws during the legislature, including three budgets, tax reduction measures, and laws on housing promotion and family businesses. Deputies registered 82,000 parliamentary initiatives, and 78 plenary sessions were held. The President of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, responded to 291 questions, while councilors answered 879.
The Chamber has also hosted three Debates on the State of the Region and study commissions on financing, youth, and drugs, as well as an investigation into university chairs where Begoña Gómez appeared.
