Real Madrid coach, Álvaro Arbeloa, stressed the importance of the upcoming Champions League match against Bayern Munich, highlighting the need for team cohesion and the impact of Kylian Mbappé in such high-stakes games.

On the eve of the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals, Arbeloa stated that Kylian Mbappé fully understands what the white club represents and that his arrival in the summer of 2024 was precisely to face challenges like this. The coach from Salamanca anticipates a Real Madrid that has always risen to the occasion against major adversaries, such as Bayern, whom he described as the most consistent team in Europe this season.

"For us, there is only one possible scenario, which is to beat Bayern Munich; advancing in the tie is the only thing we are focused on, the only thing we believe in and want."

Álvaro Arbeloa · Real Madrid Coach
The Real Madrid coach praised the Bavarian team, highlighting their tactical structure and the influence of Vincent Kompany. He described Bayern as a very well-drilled team, aggressive in defense, and capable of matching opponents without fear, emphasizing the versatility of players like Harry Kane.
Regarding Mbappé, Arbeloa acknowledged that his presence requires a different tactical adaptation compared to Brahim Díaz, but he welcomed having a player of his caliber for a match of this magnitude. He expressed confidence that the French forward will perform at his best and lead the team, just like other key players such as Jude Bellingham.
Arbeloa insisted that having Mbappé is an "extraordinary stroke of luck" and that few coaches would turn down a player of his quality. He underscored the difficulty for any defense facing an attack that includes Mbappé, Vinícius, Valverde, and Bellingham, whom he considers some of the best players on the planet.
The coach also defended Mbappé's identification with the club, recalling his long-held desire to wear the white jersey. As for Jude Bellingham, Arbeloa affirmed that his presence improves the team and that the challenge lies in adjusting the relationships between players to leverage each one's unique qualities. The previous defeat in Mallorca, though painful, quickly refocused the team on the crucial European commitment.
