This operation, which also includes members of the Fire Department, will primarily focus on the area around San Isidro Park and meadow in Carabanchel, and Las Vistillas in the Centro district. Other festive locations such as Plaza Mayor, Matadero Madrid, and Plaza de la Villa will also receive special attention.
“"Let's go to have a good time and not get into any trouble."
The delegate for Security and Emergencies has advised citizens to use public transport, arrive early at crowded venues, and enjoy the festivities. The municipal operation will be intensified during weekends and especially on Friday, May 15, San Isidro Day, when a larger public turnout is expected.
Municipal Police officers, both uniformed and plainclothes, will work to prevent thefts and altercations. The operation will involve personnel from the district police stations of Centro Norte, Centro Sur, and Carabanchel, as well as from the Central Security Station, Diversity Management, Environment, the Cavalry Squadron, the Canine Section, and the Air Support Section, which will use drones.
For its part, Samur-Protección Civil will set up a daily advanced medical post in San Isidro Park and meadow, deploying advanced and basic life support ambulances, first response units, and on-foot and bicycle medical teams. The health service will also be present at Las Vistillas, Plaza Mayor, and Matadero Madrid, and will cover the solemn mass and procession on May 15.
Madrid Firefighters will daily review the safety of the surroundings and access points to the festive areas, checking hydrants and establishing standby teams for the fireworks scheduled for May 15 and 17. The department will be on pre-alert on San Isidro Day due to the anticipated large public attendance.
