Alcobendas City Council has been honored with the 2026 Platinum Broom award at the Tecma fair in Ifema Madrid, recognizing its commitment to digitalizing urban waste services.

The award, presented by the Technical Association for Waste Management and Environment (Ategrus), highlights the implementation of a digital solution for the city's recycling centers. This tool enables automated and fully traceable waste management.
The mobile application allows users to securely identify themselves, book appointments, and declare deposited items using QR codes. According to project representatives, this system enhances operational efficiency and user experience by providing real-time data on facility usage.
The service, managed in collaboration with Acciona, aims to optimize public resource planning. This recognition adds to the company's track record in these awards, following previous accolades for its urban services across the Madrid Region.
