The José Caballero Municipal Sports Center in Alcobendas will be the venue for this significant international sports event, which includes two key competitions on the world calendar: boulder and speed. The event, organized by World Climbing, the Spanish Federation of Mountain and Climbing Sports (FEDME), and Prensa Ibérica, has the support of the Alcobendas City Council, the Community of Madrid, and the Higher Sports Council.
The qualifying rounds for boulder in both men's and women's categories began on Thursday. Friday will feature the semifinals and the women's final, while Saturday will be dedicated to the men's competition. Sunday will host the speed discipline, a rapidly growing sport within international competitive climbing.
The hosting of this championship underscores Alcobendas' organizational capacity for large events, reinforcing its recognition as the Best European City for Sport 2025. The Councilor for Sports, Jesús Tortosa, attended the women's semifinal.
An attendance of 40,000 spectators is expected over the four days of competition, with tickets sold out weeks in advance. The Fan Zone will offer gastronomic options, interactive activities, and live music, including sets by Italian DJ Andrea Ciscato (DJ C15K1).
Those who were unable to secure tickets can follow the events live via Eurosport and on the official social media channels of the Alcobendas City Council.
