The Popular Party of Alcalá de Henares has proposed to VOX to negotiate the municipal budget project this Wednesday, offering to withdraw budget modifications from the plenary session if an agreement is reached within ten days.

The Popular Party of Alcalá de Henares has expressed surprise at VOX's decision to issue a press release just ten minutes before its publication, rejecting doubts about the transparency of the municipal government's management and any insinuation of concealing irregularities.
The PP stated that if any group had knowledge of an irregularity, they should go to court instead of issuing statements. "The opposite is to use serious insinuations as a political weapon," they added, emphasizing that the interest of Alcalá's residents must prevail over political disagreements to ensure public services, investments, and debt reduction.
In this regard, the PP has offered VOX to withdraw budget modifications from the Plenary's agenda if they commit to negotiating the budget project, which has been on the table for months. The specific proposal is for a meeting with no other points than the budgets and projects directly affecting the residents of Alcalá, aiming to reach an agreement within a maximum of ten days.
The Popular Party recalled that VOX has had the budget project since December 5th and has not submitted any alternative written proposal. They warned that if they do not receive an affirmative response, the budget modification will proceed, and if VOX votes with the opposition, they will understand their change of role in municipal politics.
"One cannot be a partner of someone they do not trust," stated the PP, insisting that their priority is to ensure stability, approve budgets, and unblock necessary investments. "VOX must decide whether it wants to remain a governing party or if it prefers to play another role in the city's political life alongside the "sanchista" PSOE and the far-left Más Madrid," they concluded.
