A 35-year-old man has been seriously injured after being stabbed in the neck and chest in Plaza Arturo Barea, in Madrid's Lavapiés neighborhood.

The incident occurred around midnight on Sunday. The victim sustained an approximately ten-centimeter wound to the neck and another to the right side of his chest.
Emergency medical services (Samur-Protección Civil) attended to the injured man at the scene, intubating him before urgently transferring him to Hospital Clínico San Carlos, where he was admitted in serious condition.
The National Police have launched an investigation to clarify the exact circumstances of the assault.
