The patron saint festivities in Velilla de San Antonio have ended with a very positive balance, consolidating themselves as a benchmark for leisure and coexistence in the Community of Madrid. Participation and attendance reached record figures this year, exceeding all expectations.
The inaugural opening speech, delivered by the young local athlete Jimena Asuero, was marked by emotion and pride in being the speaker for her own town, inspiring attendees with her speech on effort and success.
The peak of attendance was experienced at the Velilla Arena, where the concert by the Orquesta Panorama gathered 7,000 people. The traditional fireworks, considered the best in the region, also received outstanding approval. Performances by DJs and concerts in the Town Hall square, featuring artists like Decai and DJ Totote, kept the festive spirit high.
One of the greatest achievements of this edition has been the generalized tranquility and civility. The safety record is very positive, with no serious police interventions, notable medical procedures, arrests, or sexual assaults, confirming that the festivities were one hundred percent safe.
This preventive success is the result of coordination between the State Security Forces and Corps and the Velilla Civil Protection Group, with the collaboration of other groups from the Community of Madrid.
The work of the municipal staff and the Festivities Commission has been fundamental to the development of festivities designed for the residents. After the celebrations, the municipality has returned to normality, and cleaning and dismantling tasks were completed in a record time of 48 hours.
