The Torrejón de Ardoz City Council has kicked off the new 2026-2027 academic year for its Municipal Adult Education School. The inauguration, held yesterday at the Las Fronteras Cultural Center, was attended by the mayor, Alejandro Navarro Prieto; the Councilor for Culture, José Antonio Moreno; and the school's director, Cristina Biescas, along with the new head of studies, Cristina González Pérez, the teaching staff, and the 305 enrolled students.
The course begins with music as its guiding theme, inviting students to "join our rhythm". This thematic choice pays tribute to Ludwig van Beethoven, coinciding with the proximity of the bicentenary of his death in 1827. Music is presented as a universal language, a source of creativity and communication, which will be present in various educational activities.
The program maintains as fundamental pillars the training to obtain the title of Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO) Graduate, basic education, and Spanish classes for foreigners. Additionally, a varied offer of workshops is available in computing, art, history, music, scientific dissemination, and memory activation, designed to spark curiosity and foster lifelong learning.
Flexible hours are one of the school's main attractions, allowing classes to be compatible with work, family, and other daily responsibilities. The objective is to offer training opportunities to people of all ages and circumstances, facilitating the resumption of studies, the expansion of knowledge, or the acquisition of new tools for personal and professional development.
