The Mejorada del Campo City Council has been mandated by the Ministry of Finance to implement a Financial Economic Plan, after its budget was rejected for failing to comply with the current adjustment plan, a situation that Vox had previously warned about.
The municipal group Vox in the Mejorada del Campo City Council has highlighted that its warnings regarding the council's economic management have been confirmed. Following an extraordinary plenary session held on April 9, the Government team found itself obliged to approve a Financial Economic Plan due to non-compliance with the current adjustment plan.
Vox recalled that in the plenary session last October, it voted against the municipal budgets. On that occasion, the party had already pointed out, based on reports from the Municipal Audit Office, that the accounts did not comply with the adjustment plan, which represented a "serious irregularity" in the City Council's financial administration.
“
"The Audit Office's own report was clear: the adjustment plan was being breached. Even so, the Government decided to go ahead, ignoring technical and political warnings."
As a result of this non-compliance, the Ministry of Finance has rejected the municipal budgets, forcing the Council to present a Financial Economic Plan to rectify the situation. This plan aims to restore economic stability and ensure compliance with fiscal regulations.
“
"This scenario confirms that Jorge Capa's Government approved budgets without due technical rigor and disregarding existing warnings. Time has put things in their place. What we denounced in October is now confirmed by the intervention of the Ministry of Finance, evidencing irresponsible economic management by the municipal Government."
In the recent extraordinary plenary session, Vox again voted against the Financial Economic Plan proposed by the Government team, arguing that the document lacks the necessary specificity. According to the party, the plan does not detail the required adjustment measures or establish a clear roadmap to ensure compliance with the adjustment plan.
“
"It does not detail the necessary adjustment measures or establish a clear roadmap to guarantee compliance with the adjustment plan. An economic plan cannot be approved without explaining how it will be fulfilled. This document is insufficient and generates more uncertainty than solutions."
Ángel Alonso concluded that the citizens of Mejorada del Campo deserve rigorous municipal management, not improvisations that require rectifications imposed by the Ministry of Finance.
