The San Fernando de Henares City Council has announced the program for its 2026 Patron Saint Festivities, which will include nearly 30 concerts and a hundred activities, highlighted by a new, larger capacity venue.

The celebrations, starting on May 22, will feature a revamped concert venue, El Batán, which expands its capacity to over 13,000 people, nearly 6,000 more than in the previous edition. This improvement aims to meet growing demand and offer a more comfortable experience for attendees. Additionally, priority access will be given to local residents, who can enter two hours before performances begin by presenting their ID.

"We are responding to demands received from citizens, creating a transversal, complete, and varied agenda, with around a hundred events so that every resident finds their space and moment; consolidating festivities of the people and for the people, where clubs, groups, and associations are a fundamental part, valuing closeness and local spirit."

The musical agenda is one of the pillars of these festivities, with nearly 30 free concerts. Confirmed artists include Merino and La Frontera, performing on May 22, and the Sanfer suena a Rock festival on May 23, featuring bands like Burning and Benito Kamelas. Other notable names are María Toledo (paid concert), La Misión, Panorama, Demarco Flamenco, and Lérica, who will perform on various dates in May.
The program also includes thematic days, such as Children's and Youth Day on May 24 at Dolores Ibárruri Park, with activities for children and proposals for young people. May 25 will be Traditions Day in Plaza de España, featuring an exhibition and folk performances. May 26 and 27 will be dedicated to seniors, with open days and various activities at municipal centers.
As a new addition and by popular demand, three Correfoc shows have been scheduled, two on Paseo de los Pinos and one on Gonzalo de Córdoba street. This year's town crier will be a retired nurse with a long career of service and volunteering in Civil Protection, recognized for her commitment to the community. The festivities will conclude with the traditional 'Pobre de mí' on May 31.
To ensure the safety of all attendees, the City Council has deployed an extensive security operation including 18 video surveillance cameras, emergency buttons in booths, plainclothes patrols, 'violet points' (support points for victims of gender violence), and health assistance zones. Additionally, the presence of the Local Police, National Police, and Civil Protection will be reinforced, along with access and traffic control measures.
