San Fernando de Henares welcomes September with a diverse cultural and leisure agenda under the theme 'Vive Sanfer'. The municipal program aims to encourage citizen participation and enjoyment of public spaces with offerings ranging from theater and exhibitions to neighborhood festivals and youth activities.
One of the first major events will be the AV Parque Henares Festival, taking place on September 11, 12, and 13 at Ondarreta Square. This neighborhood festival will feature free activities for the whole family, including music, games, workshops, and exhibitions.
Culture takes center stage with a new edition of the 'El Moscardón' Amateur Theater Competition, held at the Federico García Lorca Theater between September and early October. The competition will showcase plays from various amateur companies and offer free admission with tickets available two hours before each performance.
Additionally, a preview of the theater and dance program for October will be presented, featuring performances such as 'On Time' by Fritsch Company and Compañía Psico Ballet, 'La niña de la jungla' by FESTUC Teatro, 'Mother Tongue' by the OGMIA Dance Company, and 'Invisible' by LaJoven.
The Rafael Alberti Municipal Library adds the bibliographic exhibition ‘Llaves de papel’ (Paper Keys) from September 16 to October 7, a children's creative reading and writing workshop, and meetings with authors such as Tomi Garvi, Rafael Luis Gómez, and Deborah Carvalho.
Exhibitions titled 'Un objeto, una historia. La escuela' (An object, a story. The school) and 'Precine' will offer a journey into the past and the origins of the cinematograph. The former will be extended until December 20 at the City Council's Exhibition Hall, while 'Precine' can be visited from October 1 to 18.
Young people will have their own space with ‘Sanfer Joven’ Youth Week, from September 24 to 27, featuring theater, music, rap battles, and workshops on dance, sign language, and self-defense.
The program also includes the V Fernandino Goya Market, astronomy activities, the Bicycle Day, and the reopening of the Justo Gómez Salto Municipal Sports Center, among other initiatives for various audiences.
Mayor Javier Corpa highlighted that September is a month for reunion and enjoying the city, with a varied agenda prioritizing culture, leisure, and neighborhood coexistence.
