A little owl was rescued this Friday in Alcalá de Henares after being attacked by a magpie in the street, thanks to the intervention of a local resident and the police.

The incident occurred around 1:00 PM. A local resident witnessed the situation and immediately notified the Local Police, collaborating with the officers to secure the bird and prevent further injuries.
Following the rescue, the bird was taken to the Municipal Animal Protection Center (CIMPA). Municipal services provided initial care before arranging its transfer to GREFA, a center specialized in the rehabilitation of wildlife.
At the recovery center, the owl will undergo a full veterinary examination to determine the necessary treatment. The ultimate goal is to ensure its recovery to allow for its reintroduction into the wild.
The Alcalá de Henares City Council has publicly thanked the resident for their involvement. They also reminded citizens of the importance of contacting municipal services or the police when finding injured or at-risk wildlife.
