Paracuellos de Jarama is hosting two open house days next week, offering free pilates and ballroom dancing classes for residents over 60 years old.

The municipality of Paracuellos de Jarama has organized two open house days aimed at boosting leisure activities for its residents over 60, promoting their physical well-being, and combating social isolation. The initiative invites residents to directly experience the leisure and exercise activities designed for this age group.
The program will take place over two consecutive days. On Monday, June 8, the Senior Center will host an open ballroom dancing class from 5:20 PM to 6:50 PM, designed to improve coordination and provide an enjoyable, relaxed atmosphere. The following day, Tuesday, June 9, the Plazas de la Cultura building will be the venue for a pilates session from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM, for which participants are advised to bring their own mats.
Access to these events is free on a first-come, first-served basis, with no prior registration required. This accessibility aims to ensure that no interested resident is excluded, allowing municipal centers to be perceived as vibrant, dynamic, and useful community meeting places. The activities are coordinated by the municipal health and well-being department.
These events are part of a collaboration agreement between the Paracuellos de Jarama City Council and the Conselleria de Familia, Juventud y Asuntos Sociales of the Community of Madrid. The agreement's primary goal is to provide services for the elderly and address the issue of unwanted loneliness, using sports, dance, and shared leisure as tools to connect residents and build community.
