Paracuellos de Jarama is set to unveil the Cornisas Park, an ambitious project featuring a spectacular children's play area crowned by a giant 12.5-meter long dinosaur.

The Madrid municipality of Paracuellos de Jarama is about to reveal one of its most anticipated attractions: the Cornisas Park. The centerpiece of its new children's area will be a colossal dinosaur, 12.5 meters in length, designed not just as decoration but as a complex active play structure for children over five years old.
This innovative installation, presented at the TECMA 2026 fair in IFEMA, invites youngsters to climb through its mouth, navigate its interior via membranes, nets, and rings that test their balance and coordination, and finally slide down a tail-mounted toboggan. The contractor, Kompan, internationally renowned for its playground designs, ensures high safety and developmental stimulation standards.
Mayor Jesús Muñoz, accompanied by Urban Planning Councilor Roberto Sotomayor and Kompan General Director Mercedes Rodés, emphasized the project''s significance. "We are realizing one of the most ambitious projects of this term," stated Muñoz, highlighting the commitment to "a unique space where sport, nature, and family leisure coexist in a privileged environment."
The park, spanning over 114,000 square meters adjacent to Sombra de la Torre avenue, will also include an outdoor fitness zone, a 3x3 basketball court, a viewpoint, and green areas. Councilor Roberto Sotomayor stressed the installation's sentimental value: "We want it to become the symbol of the new Parque de Las Cornisas and a landmark for the families of Paracuellos de Jarama, so that today's children remember it years from now as a scene from their childhood."
Funding for the children's areas, fitness zone, and multi-sport court comes from the Regional Investment Program (PIR) 2022-2026 of the Community of Madrid. The project, awarded to Juegos Kompan for 1,106,000 euros plus VAT, aims to provide the municipality with top-tier facilities that enhance its identity and landscape.
