The Popular Party of Alcalá de Henares has responded to the local PSOE, accusing former mayor Javier Rodríguez Palacios of being a "premature political retiree" who "no longer brings any real utility to the city".

The Popular Party of Alcalá de Henares has launched strong criticism against the socialist former mayor and current deputy, Javier Rodríguez Palacios, whom they label a "premature political retiree" and state that he "no longer brings any real utility to the city". This response comes after a statement from the PSOE of Alcalá de Henares demanding explanations from the mayor Judith Piquet regarding reports about a complaint against the spokesperson for VOX and second deputy mayor, Víctor Acosta.
In a statement released this Tuesday, the PP of Alcalá maintains that Rodríguez Palacios "has gone from promising solutions for Alcalá to acting as a political retiree: he liquidates colleagues, gives lessons from the sidelines, and dedicates himself to commenting on headlines without offering a single useful proposal for the citizens of Alcalá".
The popular party believes that the socialist deputy "should explain what he is actually doing for Alcalá from the Congress", instead of "feeding local political noise, settling scores within the PSOE, and using press clippings to try to weaken the municipal government". They add that citizens "do not need paid pundits, but representatives who work, propose, and achieve things for the city".
The PP's statement comes after the local PSOE demanded "transparency and political responsibility" from Mayor Judith Piquet, asking her to clarify if she was previously aware of the reported facts and what actions had been taken. For its part, the PP defends that the local Executive "is focused on improving neighborhoods, unblocking projects, strengthening public services, and defending the city's interests before all administrations", recalling that many current problems "were inherited from the socialist government's era".
"Alcalá does not need politicians stuck in nostalgia or leaders who give lessons from the sidelines. It needs management, commitment, and results", concludes the statement. The case, meanwhile, continues in an initial phase with no relevant judicial action officially disclosed.
