This innovative proposal combines heritage, archaeology, and cutting-edge 3D technology to offer a visually impactful journey. Attendees can step into virtual reconstructions inspired by historical and archaeological reality, traveling from Roman Complutum to the Renaissance city linked to the Cisnerian University.
Driven by the City Council of Alcalá de Henares, through the Department of Historical Heritage, the initiative utilizes new technologies for the conservation and dissemination of the cultural heritage of this city declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The virtual reconstructions have been developed with maximum archaeological and architectural rigor.
The experience invites visitors to feel present within the real Complutum, walking its streets, discovering its architecture, and approximating the lives of its inhabitants nearly two thousand years ago. The tour particularly focuses on the Roman universe and its evolution into the university and humanist city of the 16th and 17th centuries.
The activity, part of the project to improve the historical environment of the Plaza de Cervantes for tourism purposes, is free and requires prior registration due to limited spots. It will be available in 30-minute slots between 11 AM and 7 PM.
