The City Council of Alcalá de Henares has given the green light to initiate the contracting process for the supply of 40 new bulletproof vests and their corresponding covers for the Local Police. The estimated investment for this acquisition amounts to 40,000 euros.
This measure responds to the objective of continuing to improve the material resources available to officers for carrying out their duties, as explained by the Councilor for Citizen Security, Orlena de Miguel. "We continue to equip our police officers with better means so they can perform their work with greater safety and with adequate equipment for the functions they carry out," she stated.
The councilor highlighted that this contracting represents another step in equipping the Local Police with individual protection means, aligning with the municipal policy of reinforcing their resources. "We want a prepared Local Police with the necessary means. These 40 new bulletproof vests represent a direct investment in the protection of our officers and, by extension, in the security of Alcalá," she affirmed.
De Miguel further emphasized that the City Council will continue working to meet the material needs of the staff and progressively improve their resources. "It is not just about increasing resources, but about ensuring our police officers have tools and protection elements appropriate to the service they provide. Investing in our Local Police is investing in the security of all the people of Alcalá," she concluded.
The approved proposal includes the initiation of the contracting process, meaning the vests have not yet been acquired. The planned supply comprises 40 units and their corresponding covers.
