The works, which aim to minimize inconvenience to residents and drivers, have been planned in a staggered manner. The goal is for the main access roads to the historic center and the fairgrounds to be open before the start of the Festivals, facilitating mobility during dates of high attendance.
The Councilor for Works, Antonio Saldaña, highlighted the coordination to balance the pavement improvement with the least possible impact on mobility. Alternative routes have been designed, and key street reopenings will be prioritized.
The first action will begin on Monday, July 27, on Paseo de la Alameda, between Plaza de la Juventud and Marqués de Alonso Martínez street, with traffic closure until August 5. Bus stops in this section will be out of service, and urban line 6, along with interurban lines 231 and 232, will modify their routes.
To alleviate traffic, Teniente Ruiz street will be temporarily opened to traffic on July 27. Subsequently, it will be closed from August 6 to 20 for asphalting, affecting urban lines 6 and 7, and interurban lines 231 and 232.
Works will continue on Gran Canal street, closed between August 3 and 14, affecting urban lines 1B, 6, and 7. As a support measure, urban buses will make provisional stops upon request on alternative routes.
Additionally, on Monday, July 27, works will begin on Gonzalo Torrente Ballester street. The City Council recommends planning travel in advance and following the signage and instructions from the Local Police.
