The Alcalá de Henares City Council has unveiled the rehabilitation and environmental improvement project for the Huerta de Sementales park, as part of the 'Living Parks' initiative. This action aims to restore this green space and enhance its urban sustainability.
The Councilor for the Environment, Vicente Pérez, detailed that the 850,000 euro investment will be allocated to redefining paths, replacing paved areas with meadows, renovating the dog area, improving fencing, furniture, and lighting, as well as implementing sustainable irrigation and increasing biodiversity.
The project, with an execution period of 5 months, includes expanding meadows by 3,300 square meters and planting 70 new trees of six different species and 450 shrubs of ten different species.
The intervention in the Sementales park is part of the 'Living Parks' initiative, which has a total investment of over 10 million euros. This comprehensive plan, included in 'Alcalá improves its neighborhoods', covers 14 spaces across the city, making it the most ambitious green space modernization effort in Alcalá de Henares in the last 25 years.
