The Complutense Association of Nativity Scene Makers in Alcalá de Henares held two introductory courses on nativity scene art during February and March, attracting forty new participants to this cultural tradition.

Throughout the training sessions, students had the opportunity to learn the fundamental techniques of this art. They worked with essential materials such as expanded polystyrene, moss, and various pigments, key elements for creating nativity scenes that aim for realism and artistic sensitivity.
These workshops not only introduced attendees to the world of belenismo but also stimulated their creativity and fostered interest in a hobby that merges tradition, spirituality, and artistic expression. The initiative seeks to preserve and promote a deeply rooted cultural practice.
The closing of the courses was attended by the instructors and several local authorities. Among them were Antonio Saldaña, Councilor for Popular Festivals; Víctor Cobo, Councilor for Consumer Affairs; and Pilar Cruz, head of Youth and Family, who supported the association's work.
With initiatives like this, the Complutense Association of Nativity Scene Makers reaffirms its commitment to promoting and preserving a popular cultural tradition, ensuring its transmission to new generations and its continuity over time.
