The Alcalá de Henares City Council has presented a project costing €850,000 for the rehabilitation and environmental improvement of the Huerta de Sementales park, within the ‘Parks with Life’ initiative.

The project includes the renovation of paths, replacement of paved surfaces with meadows, improvement of the dog area, rehabilitation of fencing, renewal of furniture and lighting, and the implementation of sustainable irrigation to increase biodiversity.
The action, with an execution period of 5 months, plans for an increase of meadows by 3,300 square meters and the planting of 70 new trees of six different species and 450 shrubs of 10 different species.
This intervention in Huerta de Sementales is part of the ‘Parks with Life’ initiative, which has a total investment of over €10 million. This comprehensive plan, included in ‘Alcalá improves its neighborhoods’, covers 14 green spaces in the city, making it the most ambitious green space modernization project in the last 25 years.
