Thousands of residents of Alcalá de Henares enjoyed this Sunday the Grand Float Parade and the fireworks that provided the golden closing to the 2026 Alcalá Fairs and Festivals.

The parade featured 8 floats with varied children's and youth themes, 5 marching bands participating in the contest organized by the festival department, including groups like El Juglar, Los Jardineros, Los Pichis, and Los Reincidentes, the Cultural Association of Majorettes Ritmo y Bastón, the Gigantes y Cabezudos (Little Giants) parade, and a large street performance by the cultural association «La Burleta» from Campo de Criptana, with dozens of dancers and three mobile elements.
During the route, 6,000 kilos of soft gluten-free candies were distributed, handed out by the city's local groups that accompanied the parade.
The procession traveled along Vía Complutense from Luis de Madrona to the Glorieta de San Jerónimo de Sola, continued through Calle Sebastián de la Plaza, Puerta de Mártires, Libreros, and concluded in Plaza Cervantes. There, they were met by the mayor Judith Piquet, the councilor for Festivals and Popular Traditions, Antonio Saldaña, and other members of the Government and the municipal corporation. At the end of the parade, the banner of the local groups was removed from the City Hall balcony, and the traditional ‘Pobre de mí’ was sung.
The grand finale was provided by the renowned and experienced company Vulcano, which designed a unique pyrotechnic show for the city from the special location of the Huerta del Obispo. The display lasted over 13 minutes, combining light and sound to bid farewell to the festivities for another year.
