It has hosted major series for streaming platforms, international feature films, music videos by renowned artists, and award-winning short films. Productions such as the series 'The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon', Leiva's music video 'Gigante', or Almodóvar's film 'The Room Next Door' have utilized sites like the Palacio de los Casado, the University Campus, and the Cuartel de Sementales.

To commemorate the 25th anniversary of 'Cuéntame como pasó', the Alcalá Film Office launched a film tourism initiative in 2026. The service, which is free of charge, guides production companies through the entire process, from suggesting locations to processing permits and parking reservations, while also providing information on municipal fees and administrative procedures.
Interested companies must request permits at least 15 days in advance, submitting the required documentation. The City Council internally coordinates departments including Heritage, Tourism, Environment, Local Police, and Civil Protection before issuing the final authorization.
