The San Nicasio Fairgrounds light up tonight with the opening of attractions, marking the start of the celebrations. The musical lineup is notably diverse, featuring artists such as Juan Magán, Mägo de Oz, Siempre Así, Fangoria, Nancys Rubias, Paula Mattheus, and Besmaya.
Sunday, October 4th, will see the musical kickoff with the Orquesta Panorama at 9:00 PM at the Fairgrounds. In the morning, at 12:00 PM, the traditional Parade of Giants and Big-Heads will depart from the José Saramago Cultural Center towards the Hermitage of San Nicasio.
Wednesday, October 7th, will feature the opening speech, delivered by volunteers from Civil Protection of Leganés, held at the Plaza de San Nicasio. Following this, artist Keny Castellanos will present a tribute to Joaquín Sabina.
The music continues on Thursday, October 8th, with the ‘Cerca de las Estrellas’ Gala, and on Friday, October 9th, with Juan Magán's performance at 11:00 PM, followed by Juan Peña's ‘Aura Show’. On Saturday, October 10th, San Nicasio Rock will host Kamikazes, Barracuda, Leize, and headliners Mägo de Oz.
On Sunday, October 11th, the stage will feature Siempre Así (9:00 PM), Nancys Rubias (10:30 PM), and Fangoria. On Monday, October 12th, the musical performances will conclude with Paula Mattheus (9:00 PM) and the duo Besmaya (10:30 PM).
In addition to music, the festivals include the 48th San Nicasio Popular Race on Sunday, October 11th, at 9:00 AM, and a popular paella event on Monday, October 12th, at 2:00 PM. Religious events honoring the patron saint will also take place, including a floral offering and the High Mass.
The mayor of Leganés, Miguel Ángel Recuenco, highlighted that this year's musical lineup is 'the best in recent years' and coincides with the city's 400th anniversary.
