Thousands of travelers on the C-5 Cercanías line, particularly from Alcorcón, face mandatory transfers at Atocha due to Adif's works until August 16.

Users of the Alcorcón Central, Las Retamas, and San José de Valderas stations on the C-5 Cercanías line are experiencing service modifications starting today, July 17. These changes are due to works that Adif will carry out at Atocha Cercanías station, a project aimed at increasing the capacity of the Sol tunnel and improving the reliability of the infrastructure.
The first phase, from July 17 to 22, means that C-5 trains will terminate and start their routes at Atocha. This will require travelers from Alcorcón and Móstoles to change trains at this station to continue their journey on the C-5 line, adding to recent incidents and delays.
From July 23 until August 16, service will be interrupted between Villaverde Alto and Embajadores. The C-5 will be divided into two sections: Humanes/Fuenlabrada – Villaverde Alto and Móstoles El Soto – Embajadores, both with ten-minute frequencies. Renfe will implement a shuttle train between Villaverde Alto and Méndez Álvaro to connect both ends.
As an alternative, travelers with a valid Cercanías ticket can use certain EMT bus lines during service interruptions. Renfe will enhance information through station staff, information panels, public address systems, social media, and WhatsApp.
