The municipal group Más Madrid-Compromiso con Getafe has reaffirmed its commitment to the municipalization of the Home Care Service (SAD), a measure they consider economically viable for the Getafe City Council.

The party, which is part of the local government alongside the PSOE and Podemos, has formally communicated its "firm position" in favor of public management of the service to SAD workers. This stance is based on a report indicating that the cost difference between public and private management is only about 300,000 euros out of a total budget of approximately 8 million euros.
Since the beginning of the legislature, public management of the SAD has been a "political priority" for the group. They believe it is the responsibility of administrations to ensure dignified working conditions in public services, which, according to their analysis, is not currently being met in the municipal service.

"We believe we are closer than ever to achieving public management of the service and demonstrating that public entities can manage better, caring for both those who receive the service and those who provide it."

In 2023, the municipalization of the service was defended as an "unwavering commitment" during the negotiation of the legislative agreement with the PSOE. However, this approach was adjusted after workers requested a prior feasibility study, which has led to the current situation of analyzing the transition to direct management.
The political group has emphasized the need to expedite this study and ensure it includes not only economic criteria but also organizational and service quality aspects. They stress that the 300,000 euro economic difference is "perfectly affordable for the Getafe City Council's budget" and that this figure does not justify maintaining a model that "precariousizes working conditions."
Furthermore, the party representatives highlight that there is currently no political opposition to municipalization, placing the city in "the best moment in recent years to take this step," which would improve both user care and worker conditions.
