The plot where the historic facility, closed since 2009, was located will host a modern complex after an investment of 12.9 million euros. The project, managed by Taller de Construcción TMR, will take two years to complete and cover 88,500 square meters.
The project includes a diverse range of sports and family leisure facilities, featuring three outdoor pools, one with waves, and two heated indoor pools. Users will also have access to a gym, changing rooms, and spaces for sports activities.
Additionally, the complex will house a wellness area equipped with a spa, sauna, jacuzzi, and Turkish bath. 14,500 square meters of green spaces and a solarium will be provided for visitors' enjoyment.
The Solagua Sports Complex will be completed with a 1,000 square meter dining area and a parking lot with 145 spaces. To improve accessibility, a bus stop will be established near the main entrance, along with new links to the Ronda Norte.
Mayor Miguel Ángel Recuenco highlighted that the future center will be "modern, accessible, and prepared for current and future needs." Meanwhile, the Councilor for Public Works, Carlos Delgado, described it as a place for sport and leisure that will also serve as a climate refuge for residents.
