Leganés is preparing to host the third edition of its Agro-food Market this Saturday, September 19th. The initiative, aimed at bringing regional products closer to residents and supporting local commerce, will take place at the Plaza del Milenio in the San Nicasio neighborhood. The event, running from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, will feature 15 agro-food producers and companies, many of them from the municipality itself.
Attendees will have the opportunity to directly purchase a wide range of local products, including fruits, vegetables, legumes, honey, pickles, cured meats, dairy products, wines, and craft beers. The fair reinforces the City Council's commitment to fostering direct contact between producers and consumers, as well as boosting the local economy and public space activity.
Among the participating businesses and producers from Leganés are names such as Cervezas La Cibeles, Mi Vergel, Alegría de la Huerta, Madrid Miel, Oohlalá Bistró, and Masa & Miga. They will be joined by other firms from the Community of Madrid, including NU-BO, Fruto del Baobab, Marqués de Mendiola, Lácteas La Jarama, Riquísimas Empanadas, JPMarabotto, Lechal Colmenar, Oleofanum, and Campo Real olives.

The Councilor for Commerce and Local Development, José Marín, highlighted the markets' role in connecting citizens with food producers and promoting local consumption. "That's why we want to continue bringing these initiatives to different parts of Leganés and consolidate them as part of our city strategy," he stated.
The event will feature a wine and Madrid flavors tasting and pairing, organized by local businesses Oro y Rubí and Corte Gourmet. This activity will take place from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM and will offer the chance to sample two Madrid wines paired with cheeses from La Corcuera dairy and Marqués de Mendiola. Sommelier Alberto García Luna will guide attendees through the pairings.
Additionally, the event will be enlivened by performances from the Leganés dance academy Sueña a Compás and the Coro Rociero Al Barakah, adding a cultural and leisure dimension to the day.
This marks the third Agro-food Market held in Leganés this year, following the one in June at the Plaza de la Policía Nacional. The next event is scheduled for October 17th at the square next to the Centro Cívico Julián Besteiro.
