The El Bercial neighborhood in Getafe is getting a new dog recreation area. Located at the intersection of Bequerel and Pilar Bardem streets, this is the second dog area the municipal government has launched in 2026, following the opening in Los Molinos last January. With this new addition, the city now has a total of 14 dog areas.
The investment for this new space has exceeded 50,000 euros and covers an area of over 2,000 square meters. The works included land preparation and the installation of a 250-meter perimeter fence to ensure the safety of both pets and residents.
One of the main attractions is a complete Agility circuit, designed for dogs to exercise, improve their coordination, and socialize in a safe environment. The enclosure also features benches, trash bins, and signage with usage rules to facilitate coexistence and proper maintenance of the space.

He assured that the City Council will continue to promote new areas for safe physical activity for pets, balancing these spaces with environmental care, cleanliness, and neighborhood rest.
