The new Leganés Norte sports complex, whose construction started a year ago, is scheduled to finish by the end of this year, as reported during a visit by local authorities.

The construction of the new Leganés Norte sports complex, which began a year ago, will conclude by the end of this year. The investment allocated to the pavilion amounts to 6,917.53 euros. The land cession to CD Leganés stems from the agreement reached by the city council with the club for the cession of the Butarque stadium for 50 years.
Mayor Miguel Ángel Recuenco stated that the recent purchase of CD Leganés by the Dubai-based company ‘885 Capital’ from Jeff Luhnow for approximately 100 million euros will not affect the existing agreement. "It doesn't affect anything because the agreement is with CD Leganés. It doesn't matter what the owner's name is. The agreement was to guarantee the continuity of this project," the mayor detailed.
The construction company is Inesco SA, and Serdel SAP will be responsible for the technical direction. The facility is situated on a 32,124 square meter plot at number 59 of Avenida María Guerrero.
The project will feature a regulation-size artificial turf 11-a-side football pitch, adhering to the Sports and Recreation Facilities Standards (NIDE), equipped with a perimeter fence, lighting, drainage, markings, ball-stop nets, and changing rooms for players, referees, and public restrooms integrated into the multi-sport hall building.
Additionally, it will include six tennis courts with sports surfacing, perimeter fencing, lighting, drainage, markings, and net equipment with seating. Finally, it will house a covered pavilion with double height and seating, a multi-sport court with heterogeneous vinyl flooring, foldable basketball hoops, dividing curtains for three zones, goals, volleyball posts, a scoreboard, and changing rooms.
Security, cleaning, and access control, as well as maintenance, will be the responsibility of CD Leganés. On the other hand, the City Council will cover any potential damages caused by municipal activities. Municipal technical services from the Works Delegation control and inspect the execution of the work to ensure it conforms to the project approved by the Local Government Board, as well as its economic cost, as payments will offset the fee.
