Two Injured by Burns in Getafe Fire

A 58-year-old man and a 54-year-old woman sustained burn injuries early Monday morning due to a fire in a terraced house in Perales del Río, Getafe.

The blaze broke out in a semi-detached house located at Calle Tejera Negra, 42. Nine fire crews from the Community of Madrid Fire Department responded to the scene and encountered a fire that was "highly developed and had broken through the roof."
Firefighters managed to contain the flames, preventing them from spreading to adjacent homes and other floors of the affected house, although the attic was completely destroyed.

SUMMA 112 emergency services attended to the two individuals. The man, 58, suffered burns to 20% of his body and was transported in "moderate" condition to Getafe Hospital. The woman, 54, sustained minor burns to one hand and was also taken to the same hospital.
