The Ciempozuelos City Council has inaugurated its Senior Center, a space dedicated to enhancing the physical and intellectual capabilities of the municipality's elderly residents.

The Senior Area of the Ciempozuelos City Council aims to promote activities that help seniors maintain their physical and intellectual capacities in the best possible condition. To achieve this, various leisure and free-time activities are developed, along with cultural workshops, all aimed at improving quality of life, fostering healthy habits, and creating meeting spaces that address aspects like affectivity, sociability, and cognitive development.
The Senior Center, inaugurated in 2021 and located in the Old House of Culture, was created to meet the needs of seniors and facilitate their activities. It includes dedicated spaces for gymnastics, dance, games, and workshops, as well as an exhibition hall to encourage their active participation in the cultural life of Ciempozuelos.
The gerontogymnastics workshop, aimed at individuals over 65 years old, takes place on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. This sports activity aims to exercise participants, promote healthy living, and foster autonomy to prevent or delay dependency, optimizing health, participation, and safety opportunities.
Free workshops and courses are offered in the mornings, including fabric painting, sewing, crochet, reading, computer skills, and poetry. The goal is to promote active use of free time, social participation, and community living, preventing dependency and promoting health through an active role.
The 'Golden Advice' initiative aims to give seniors a prominent role, allowing them to share their life advice and reflections on the future of Ciempozuelos, highlighting their wisdom and experience to foster intergenerational communication and a sense of community.
Registration for most activities is handled at the Casa de la Cultura, from Monday to Friday, 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
