The Ciempozuelos City Council has opened the application period for the Patios Abiertos and Apoyo Escolar programs, initiatives designed to facilitate family reconciliation and promote the integral development of students.

The Department of Education and Non-Formal Education of the Ciempozuelos City Council has initiated the registration period for two key programs: Patios Abiertos (Open Courtyards) and Apoyo Escolar (School Support). These initiatives aim to provide spaces in schools outside of regular class hours to aid family reconciliation and foster aspects such as healthy leisure, academic motivation, and study autonomy among young people.
According to Rosa Revuelta, Councilor for Education, the Patios Abiertos program seeks to "promote the use of sports facilities in a protected environment and improve the well-being, coexistence, and free play of children." Meanwhile, the Apoyo Escolar activities focus on "creating a reading habit among students in 1st and 2nd grade and supporting the development of linguistic and logical-mathematical skills in a fun and accessible way."
Both initiatives ensure comprehensive education, covering from the reinforcement of learning skills to the development of students' physical and mental well-being, while simultaneously assisting families with work-life balance.
The programs will run from Monday to Thursday, from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM, distributed across different schools: CEIP Andrés Segovia (Mondays), CEIP Eloy Saavedra (Tuesdays), CEIP Ventura Rodríguez (Wednesdays), and CEIP Virgen del Consuelo (Thursdays).
The application period for participation will be open from September 10th to September 25th. For Patios Abiertos, it is necessary to complete a registration form and send it to educacion@ayto-ciempozuelos.org. The program has 20 fixed places and 10 open places per school, filled on a first-come, first-served basis, although priority will be given to those with fixed places. Registered participants can access any of the open schools on that day.
To register for Apoyo Escolar, families must contact their respective school. In some cases, schools may directly contact families, prioritizing students who need reinforcement. This program, aimed at students in 1st and 2nd grade, offers 20 places per school.
Councilor Rosa Revuelta invites all families to register, emphasizing that these initiatives "continue to improve the well-being and childhood education of the children of Ciempozuelos."
