The Ciudadella Fest, a cultural event held in Alcorcón, has been canceled for this year. DJ and promoter Vicente One More Time confirmed the news, expressing his frustration over the lack of dialogue with the municipal government, particularly the Department of Culture. According to his statements, his attempts to schedule meetings have been unsuccessful, and he denounces that he has not been received by the responsible councilwoman.
Vicente One More Time defended the festival's legacy, calling it an "example" for bringing international artists and having "spectacular" organization, with no complaints and commendations from the Municipal Police and firefighters. He stated that the public continues to show great interest on social media, inquiring about future dates and artists.
The promoter compared the current situation with previous city council administrations, recalling the support received from figures like Jesús Santos and Raquel Rodríguez. He expressed disappointment with the current municipal corporation and suggested that an incident involving Palestinian flags and graffiti during the last edition may have generated "animosity" towards his project from "political sectors."
Although the festival will not take place in Alcorcón this year, Vicente One More Time has not ruled out reviving it in another location, searching for "castles" that give meaning to the event. He noted the interest from other city councils and highlighted the municipality's cultural potential, lamenting the lack of institutional support for disciplines such as ceramics or the creation of a municipal DJ school.
Finally, Vicente One More Time sent a message of optimism to the followers of Ciudadella Fest, assuring them that "we will return," although he does not know if it will be in Alcorcón or elsewhere. He defended his right to "tell the truth" despite the "consequences" it may have caused him over the years.
