The decision to postpone the celebration comes at a time when organizers had everything prepared for a day full of activities. The program included the traditional parade of Giants and Big-Heads, a street parade through the neighborhood, various children's activities, a foam party, a communal paella, children's bull runs, and DJ sessions to conclude the day. All these activities were planned to take place around the School of Music.
However, the forecast of bad weather has forced the cancellation, a measure that, according to the organization, was taken “thinking about everyone's safety.” The goal is to avoid risks for both attendees and the proper development of outdoor activities.
“"We regret to inform you that, due to the adverse weather conditions forecast for May 9, we are obliged to suspend the Patron Saint Festivities in honor of San José Obrero. This decision has been made with everyone's safety in mind. We appreciate your understanding and will keep you informed about possible new dates."
Despite the suspension, there is optimism in finding a new date for the festivities, especially when weather conditions are more favorable, which is considered most important by the organizers.
