Baloncesto Leganés has decided to forgo participation in European competitions next season to safeguard the club's financial and structural stability.

After extensive deliberation, the management of Baloncesto Leganés has made the difficult decision to withdraw from competing in European tournaments next season. Club president María Martín detailed that this is a strategic and responsible choice, prioritizing the consolidation of the sports project and the entity's long-term viability.
Martín explained that competing in Europe entails significant logistical, physical, economic, and organizational strain. "We weighed the demands of both competitions and decided that the most intelligent course for the club's future is to solidify its foundation in the Liga Femenina Endesa and guarantee its viability," she stated. She emphasized that it's not solely an economic issue but one of project stability, which includes over 600 boys and girls.

"After coolly analyzing all factors, we understood it was the most sensible and mature option to ensure the sustainability of our entity, which goes far beyond our first team."

The president acknowledged the decision was complex, but management responsibility must supersede emotion. The players, though motivated by playing in Europe, have handled the situation professionally, having been informed of the circumstances from the outset of their contracts. The club aims to build a solid project in the Liga Femenina Endesa.

"Europe was a reward for last season, but our true daily path is here; this decision allows us to protect the club's financial health."

The club believes this withdrawal strengthens the project in terms of stability, allowing it to protect its financial health, structural workload, and the squad's physical freshness. The absence of international travel and midweek double-headers will enable better preparation for each league match, providing a competitive advantage in the national competition.
Regarding squad composition, the departures of Maya Dodson, Brianna Herlihy, Gabriela Andelova, Lucía Togores, and Cristina Bermejo have been confirmed. Irene Lahuerta, María Espín, and Noortje Driessen have renewed. The only signing announced so far is shooting guard Moira Joiner, arriving from Baxi Ferrol.
María Martín expressed optimism about the squad, highlighting the balance between retaining key players and incorporating new profiles. The primary objective is to secure permanence and firmly establish Innova-tsn Leganés in the elite of women's basketball, aiming to grow from there with humility and the support of the fans.
