The arrival of summer and holidays in Aranjuez brings disturbances between residents seeking rest and young people enjoying nighttime free time. Green areas and spaces like La Montaña, Las Artes, and Agfa experience increased activity at night, leading to conflicts.
The municipal government faces the challenge of guaranteeing the right to rest for homeowners and the right to recreation for young people. The Independent Citizen Group for Aranjuez (acipa) has repeatedly urged for solutions to this situation.
Increased police presence in affected neighborhoods is deemed necessary to maintain adequate noise levels and ensure proper waste collection. However, acipa suggests going a step further.
Inspired by the adaptation of Farnesio as a climate refuge for young people, it is proposed to improve spaces like "Las Calabazas". The idea is to equip it with more benches, trash cans, enhance lighting, and install public restrooms during the summer, making it an ideal spot for nighttime youth enjoyment away from residential areas.
The aim is to study alternative locations, away from the urban center, where young people can gather without causing sleep disturbances, dirt, or noise from vehicles and motorcycles to residents.
The request submitted to the Plenary Corporation includes two key points: increasing police presence in peripheral residential neighborhoods during summer nights and studying and conditioning different locations to offer them as spaces for nighttime enjoyment, in collaboration with the owning administrations.
